Broadview’s HUD practice includes FHA-insured project-based Section 8 properties, Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) assignments, market and feasibility studies, and market rent comparability study (RCS) reports. The HUD MAP lending programs require the submission of appraisal reports that comply with the Multifamily Accelerated Processing Guide as promulgated by HUD.

Types of FHA Appraisals

There are several FHA-insured financing programs available for affordable and market-rate multifamily properties. These loan programs support both acquisitions and refinancings incorporating substantial rehabilitation projects.

  • The 223(f) program supports the purchase or refinance of existing multifamily properties. Many of these assignments include a moderate or substantial renovation.
  • The 221(d)(4) program is available for new construction or substantial rehabilitation properties.
  • Properties with Section 202 loans may be refinanced to allow for lower interest rates and capital improvements.
  • The 241(a) program provides supplemental financing for FHA-insured properties to fund renovations and expansion of improvements.
